Automotive News Online: Reviews Lotus Evora S 2011 Sports Car - I have a general rule: Don't turn off traction control in anything over 350 horsepower. Adhering to this self-imposed restriction has kept your humble hack out of the weeds more times than I can count. But on my second-to-last lap around Laguna Seca in the 2011 Lotus Evora S, I just couldn't help myself. After all, it's only making 345 horses...

Porsche Panamera Turbo S 2012 |
Automotive News Online: Porsche Panamera Turbo S 2012 New York - That 494-horsepower Porsche Panamera Turbo you're driving is hot. The best $136,700 you ever spent, eh? Geeze, you even got the $2,440 Sport Chrono Pack Plus, so those 60 mph runs must flash by in 4.0 seconds flat, sometimes less, thanks in no small part to the 567 pound-feet of torque overboost. Damn. There isn't a four-door out there that can even come close. You're the king of the county, sir.

Electric Cars For: Nissan Leaf And Chevrolet Volt
Nissan Leaf And Chevrolet Volt |
Automative News online: Electric Cars For: Nissan Leaf And Chevrolet Volt - After five months of duking it out, the nation's two initial electric plug-in vehicles, Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt, are separated by only 17 cars in sales figures so far this year.
It's fairly amazing. The two vehicles are completely different, yet their sales are separated by a razor-thin margin. The Leaf is the first modern all-electric car from a major maker, a $32,780 compact rated as going about 75 miles between charges. The Volt is GM's first electric entry. Unlike the Leaf, it has a backup electric engine that kicks in after about 25 miles of electric-only driving. The Leaf costs $41,000. Both are eligible for federal tax credits and both went on sale about the same time.
